Terms & Conditions
Any order you make through alvuk.com is subject to the terms & conditions detailed on this page. For the remainder of this document the words 'We', 'Us', 'Our' and 'Website' refer to alvuk.com and its owners. The words 'You', 'Your' and 'Customer' refer to the person making an order from this website. 'Their' will refer to any third party that we have informed you of. These terms and conditions are subject to change at any time without notice.
General
- Any order by you is only seen by us as a request to receive goods at the price provided on this website and no legal contract is entered into at this point. The order is only accepted if we decide to process your order, we will try to notify you of this as soon as possible. We reserve the right to cancel any order made by you before it has been dispatched, we will refund any payments made by you if this happens.
- All information, opinions and prices on the website are subject to change without notice and may contain errors. We do not take any responsibility for these errors and may cancel your order if any errors are found. We will notify you of any errors with any of your orders as soon as we are aware of them.
- Alvuk.com excludes itself from any liability for any injury (except death or personal injury), damage or loss arising from any products supplied by ourselves or from the transaction itself. Any claim for injuries, damages, or losses that are directly caused by alvuk.com or any of its agents will be limited to the original cost of the item or items purchased.
- We take our customers security very seriously but are not liable for any losses, damages or other consequences that arise from use of our website. We take many precautions against 3rd parties obtaining your personal information and we do not store any of your credit card or other banking details anywhere in our systems. In the event, however, that your security is breached or your personal information is obtained by a third party, whether our fault or not, we do not accept any liability for this.
- In the event that you use a payment gateway to complete your purchase such as Google Checkout or PayPal their terms and conditions will apply. Our terms and conditions will supersede the payment service providers if there is any conflict or contradiction between our terms and conditions and theirs.
- All images shown on the website are for illustration purposes only. Any images are intended as a general guide but actual products may vary from these images. Any accessories shown in images on the site such as cases, for example, will not come with the item you purchase unless otherwise stated.
Delivery
- All delivery times are stated at the checkout page and again when you confirm your order. These delivery times are estimates only and come into effect once we have dispatched your order. Dispatch times are normally between 1-2 working days from receiving your order if items are in stock. Stock levels are shown at the checkout page. If items are out of stock and show a due date then the items will be dispatched if and when they become available. Items that are shown as out of stock without a due date will be dispatched if and when they become available. You will be able to cancel any order you have made before it has been dispatched and receive a full refund.
- Any delivery times provided on this site are only guaranteed to be delivered within that number of days by the courier we use, in the event that our courier is not able to deliver any item by this time they will not accept any liability or provide compensation for this and neither will we. We do not provide any sort of compensation if delivery times are longer than the estimates on our site.
- All our items are packaged securely, if when your item is delivered there is noticeable damage to the box, packet or other medium containing your item or items you should either refuse the delivery due to the damaged packaging or take pictures of the item before opening it. This will help if your item is damaged and we need to claim on any possible insurance provided by the courier we use and so you will be eligible for a refund if the item is physically damaged.
Damaged Items
- All new items sold through alvuk.com are covered by a 12 month warranty unless otherwise stated. This warranty will entitle you to have your item repaired or replaced if it develops a fault after a period of time (7 days after receipt). All damages reported after 7 days of receipt will be treated as a claim on the warranty and you may not be entitled to a refund but we will still repair or replace the damaged item subject to our terms and conditions.
- If your item is damaged upon arrival you have 7 days after receiving the item to notify us of this, we can then arrange for the item to be returned to us with you. You can contact us through the contact page via e-mail or telephone. We will then instruct you how to proceed. Any items returned to us without notifying us first will not be processed for a refund or replacement and you will have to pay return delivery charges to get the item back. Any item sent back to us without an RMA (return merchandise authorisation) number may not be processed and you may have to pay to receive the item back.
- Items that are damaged on arrival will be confirmed faulty by us once received, once we confirm any faults on the device we will either refund or replace the damaged item. We will also refund your return postage costs up to the cheapest available service we can find if your item is confirmed faulty. In order to reclaim return postage costs you must provide us with a copy of your receipt when you return your item.
- If we find no faults with items returned to us as damaged we can send the item back to you at your own cost. If you returned the item within 7 days of receiving it we can still cancel your transaction subject to our standard cancellation policy defined below.
- For tablet pc's we only deem the item to be damaged if the actual tablet pc device is damaged. If a charger or accessory such as the GPS antenna or the earphones are damaged or become faulty in any way but the tablet pc itself is fully working then we would not consider your purchase as a damaged item. Instead we will replace the part or accessory that is damaged if the product is still within its warranty period.
- Please note that software problems or incompatibilities are not deemed as damages and therefore are not eligible for refunds or repairs. This includes problems with firmware, problems with apps or problems associated with the operating system. Our tablet pc devices can be easily restored to factory settings by following a few simple procedures. Please contact us if you have a software issue.
Cancellations
- You have a right to cancel your transaction for a full refund of the items price if you notify us of this within 7 days of receiving the item. If you wish to cancel your transaction you must return your item in its original condition with any plastic wrapping, screen protectors or any other seals still in place.
- We will refuse any returns of unwanted items that fall under our 'cancellations' policy that are returned in an unsatisfactory condition. We deem any item not returned in its original condition or items that have had screen protectors, packaging or seals removed to be in an unsatisfactory condition. In certain cases we may offer a partial refund if the item is in a slightly bad condition but this is entirely at our discretion.
- You must notify us that you wish to return the item within 7 days of receiving the item, any items returned without notifying us first may not be refunded.
- We do not refund any delivery or return delivery costs for cancellations.
Warranty
- All items purchased through alvuk.com are subject to a 12 month warranty; our items shall be free from defects, be of satisfactory quality and be fit for purpose for at least 12 months. If within these 12 months your item develops a fault we agree to repair, replace or partially refund your purchase. We do not offer refunds for purchases after the initial 7 day cancellation period; if your product becomes faulty please contact us.
- If your purchase becomes faulty within the warranty period please contact us immediately, we will try to assess what is wrong with your item from our communications so please be specific and clear about your problem with the item. Do not return items to us without us telling you to do so as these items may be lost and will not be processed for a repair or replacement, you will also have to pay to receive the item back.
- If an item has been damaged due to water contact, fire damage, physical damage or general misuse we may refuse to repair or replace the damaged item. All items returned under warranty must clearly bare any serial numbers whether etched into the device or on stickers on the packaging or device, if these have been removed or are unreadable we will not accept the returned item and the warranty will be voided, we will also charge you to send the damaged item back.
- If you have a software problem with a tablet pc or computer you have purchased with us this is not covered by the warranty, only damages to the physical product will be repaired or replaced, we can however instruct you how to return the item to factory settings so please contact us if you have a software problem. If you 'root' your tablet pc device, perform any updates to the firmware or open the device you will void the warranty as these actions are highly likely to cause permanent damage to the item.
- Our warranties are on a 'return to base' basis. This means you will be liable for any charges incurred to return the item back to us. Once we have repaired or replaced your item we will send the item back to you.
- If we and/or the manufacturer can find no fault with the device we will send it back to you at your own cost, we have the right to dispose of your item if you do not pay the return postage costs within 30 days of us notifying you of the charges when no fault is found.
- Nothing in this document will affect your statutory rights, if any part of this document is found to be invalid under UK law or if any exclusion from liabilities made are deemed non-excludable this will not invalidate the whole document, it will only invalidate the bullet point section found to be non-excludable or invalid by UK law.
